Mr. Carr oversees the strategic planning and operation of CarrAmerica as well as being a source of unflagging inspiration, having been a key figure in the redevelopment and rebirth of the nation’s capital.

Mr. Carr founded The Oliver Carr Company in 1962 and, later, Carr Companies in 1993, both of which were key players in revitalizing Washington, D.C. As head of CarrAmerica, Mr. Carr has developed over 11 million SF. in the DC Metro area as well as developed and managed 26.3 million SF. nationwide.

Aside from his real estate endeavors, Mr. Carr takes great pride in Rising Stars, founded in 2012, to provide children in need access to education and now seeking to improve the quality of life in communities and schools.

An inductee of the Washington Business Hall of Fame, Mr. Carr is also Chairman Emeritus of George Washington University’s Board of Trustees, former Chairman of the Greater Washington Board of Trade and a former Trustee of the Federal City Council. In 2016, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Urban Land Institute.
