1930

OT&WA Carr Home Builders is founded.

1962

The Oliver T Carr Company founded, developing homes, hotels, and office properties.

1986

The Willard InterContinental Washington D.C. Hotel and Willard Center open, restoring the historic hotel’s prominence.

1993

CarrAmerica Realty goes public with assets from The Oliver Carr Company.

2003

CarrWorkplaces is founded after the sale of HQ Global Workplaces, which Oliver T. Carr, Jr. grew to the largest flexible office provider in the world.

2006

CarrAmerica sold 285 office properties totaling approx. 26.3 million SF in 12 markets nationwide to Blackstone for $5.6 billion.

2007

Carr Hospitality, a hotel asset management company, is formed.

2010

Carr City Centers is formed to pursue mixed-use development opportunities.

2010

Preferred Office Network is formed, providing Fortune 1000 clients access to a nationwide network of member co-working centers.

2016

Carr activities are consolidated under the newly formed Carr Companies.

2023

Company renamed CarrAmerica, continuing the development of homes, hotels, and workplaces in selected communities.
