Founded by Chairman Oliver T. Carr, Jr., Carr builds on five generations of the Carr family’s involvement in real estate development, amassing a track record distinguished by exceptional quality and a complementary mix of uses that creates vibrant communities. Since 1962, Carr and predecessor entities have developed over 12 million SF of office, retail, residential and hotel properties in the Washington Metropolitan area with over $1B in assets currently under management.

Carr primarily employs value-add and opportunistic strategies to generate superior, risk-adjusted returns for our investors. Our expertise spans ground-up construction, adaptive reuse, value-add acquisition and repositioning projects, with a particular focus on enhancing value through an innovative approach to operations. As a privately held company, we have flexibility to underwrite and execute deals across a variety of asset types, sizes and structures in order to secure the best opportunities in the market.
