Austin Flajser is President & CEO of CarrAmerica, with day-to-day oversight of over 40 coworking, hotel, commercial and retail assets under management in 9 markets across the country. Current assets account for over $1B in gross asset value, with an active development and acquisition pipeline that contributes $200MM-$400MM in new projects on an annual basis. Austin began his career in residential development with predecessor company Carr Enterprises, before entering the hospitality field as one of the initial team members of Carr Hospitality.
In 2012, Austin took over as President of Carr Hospitality and AVS, along with the newly formed development company Carr City Centers. In 2016 all Carr operating businesses including Carr Workplaces and PON were consolidated as The Carr Companies, with Austin as President. Austin received his Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University, his Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University and his Certificate in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management from Cornell University. A regular participating member on committees in both the City of Alexandria and Washington, DC, Austin formerly served on the board of the Global Workspace Association, is currently active on the boards of the Southwest DC BID and Old Town North Alliance, and is a member of the Youth in Real Estate Committee of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.
